The importance of sound can often be underestimated. As a result, there are some poor-quality products being marketed. Our company, however, insists upon prioritising the quality of all the soundtracks we produce.

Of course, we firmly believe that a well produced DVD or video should carry not only the best sound, but also the very best pictures. This is why BLACK SWAN FILM AND VIDEO always employs experienced audio engineers and has invested in the best field and studio recording technology.

All audio is recorded using broadcast approved technology.

Live events

Most musical events are recorded using digital multi-track systems and edited in SADiE. Bands and orchestras can be multi-mic'd according to requirements, or recorded on a stereo pair.

We can record onto DAT, multi-track tapes, mini-disc, hard disk, CD and CF card.

Conferences and ceremonies can be recorded by taking a direct balanced stereo or mono feed from the PA into the camera. This is a simple set-up but produces the best clarity of voice.

 

Field events

We usually deploy the best Sennheiser cable or radio microphones. Recording can be made directly onto video tape or via a portable mixer onto a hard disk recorder for later use.

Voice-over

BLACK SWAN has access to many voice-over artists to fit any requirement. We know how important it is to have the correct voice type, quality and delivery to suit a particular type of programme.

CD recording

We are able to carry out all aspects of CD production from recording through to distribution. This includes mixing, authoring, replication, booklet and cover design and printing.

Music composition

If your project requires original music, we work with a number of very gifted musicians who will compose and record tracks to suit all requirements. In addition BLACK SWAN holds an extensive library of pre-recorded non-copyright music as a quicker and more cost-effective alternative.
